We are a digital accountancy firm based in Houghton-le Spring, which is located between Durham and Sunderland in the north-east of England. Forget any stereotypical thoughts you may have about accountants. Firstly, we are a bunch of people running a small business and secondly, we are striving to live a happy life. It is all a bit of a juggling act as we balance multiple demands of meeting many filing deadlines and constant changes to taxes and regulations. We do go above and beyond in our efforts to provide the kind of service we would want if we had a business that needed an accountant. If you are looking for an accountant, we know that it can be tricky to know who to choose. You need to find the right fit: someone who talks to you using words you understand, someone who is interested in helping you to achieve the goals you have set, someone who treats you like a person, someone who understands your industry, and someone who can provide a good service. If we are a good fit, then we welcome you into our business. If we are not a good fit, we point you towards someone who can help you. The services that you need from an accountant can vary enormously so one of our tasks is to help you work out what you need. We have some useful guides to help you. Our speciality is looking after small limited companies, with one or two owners, possibly with a few employees, who record their financial information on QuickBooks (bookkeeping software) and who work with email, a smart phone and use online banking. If you have a big carrier bag of paper invoices, or you don’t run a separate business bank account, then we will run a mile away in the opposite direction! We have a list of types of businesses we currently look after, but as some start-ups are inventors, you may be launching a business that is unlike any other. We love new inventions, we love entrepreneurs, but most of all we love nice people.
