01797 225 099 Home Osteopathy Meet the Team Contact Patient Survey 2025 Select Page Qualified osteopaths in Rye Contact Us Our team at Rye Osteopathic Practice Nigel Bassett D.O. GOsC Reg. Ost. Nigel was born in, grew up in and lives in Hastings. He studied at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone, where he completed the undergraduate, four year course in 1986. Initially he joined practices in Lewis, Seaford and London and commenced the Hastings Osteopathic Practice on a part-time basis in the same year. As the practice developed he gradually reduced his involvement in the other practices and in 1988 opened the Rye Osteopathic Practice, followed by the Bexhill Osteopathic Practice in 1992. These practices have developed over more than 30 years to offering a wide spectrum of osteopathic techniques provided by thirteen osteopaths in total. Nigel also joined the faculty at the European School of Osteopathy initially as an assistant lecturer in 1986 and went on to lecture in orthopaedics, osteopathic medicine and osteopathic business practice. Throughout this period he has been a clinical tutor to the undergraduate students at the college and remains a member of faculty. The aim of the practices, under the guidance of Nigel, has always been to look at the body from a holistic view. By keeping the fees at as reasonable a level as possible, we aim to enable as many people as possible to take advantage of the benefits of osteopathic treatment. During the years when GPs had Fundholding contracts, the practices were amongst the first to receive patients from the NHS on a funded basis. This option grew considerably over the ten year period that this system was in place, which led to GP referrals that continue to this date. However, since the removal of Fundholding, this is now on a fee paying basis. As well as growing up in the locality, Nigel and his family continue to live in the area and be active in the local community. Imogen Bassett Graduated from The European School of Osteopathy with a 4 year Master’s degree in Osteopathy. She is trained in a wide range of spheres including a post graduate qualification in equine osteopathy. “I wanted to be an osteopath from a young age and consider myself fortunate to be in such an interesting and helpful profession. I love working with people; I love seeing the improvement that osteopathy makes in their lives. Having experienced the benefits of osteopathy first-hand and from a young age, I am excited to be able to do the same for others. Hugh Search Hugh graduated with a Master’s degree in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy. He has a great interest in sports and exercise having competed in both individual and team sports throughout his life, with sport being the pathway that led to his interest in osteopathy. He can offer a wide variety of techniques in order to adapt his approach to best treat the individual patient in front of me. He also ensures to keep himself up to date with the latest research in order to offer the best standard of care that he can. In addition to having a wide variety of techniques, he also has a great interest in offering advice on at-home rehabilitation and exercise in order to provide patients with the necessary tools to prevent potential further injury as well as giving them ways that they can be involved and proactive in their healing process. Cloé Corbaz Cloé graduated from the European School of Osteopathy with a First-Class Master’s degree in Osteopathy.Cloé first qualified as a nursing assistant in Switzerland where she grew up and then decided to expand her knowledge by moving to England to achieve her Osteopathic degree. She is passionate about her job, enjoys treating patients of all ages and conditions, adapting her approach to treatment to suit to each person’s individuals’ needs. During her studies at the European School of Osteopathy, she developed a particular interest in helping patients manage headaches, pregnancy-related pain and treating babies. Cloé likes to apply a multi-modal approach using structural, visceral and cranial Osteopathic techniques. Kieren Garvey I studied at the European school of osteopathy and graduated in 2022. I consider myself a structural based osteopath with the occasional functional technique. I strongly believe in exercise and that each individual should receive unique prescriptions based on their individual bodies and needs. I enjoy working as an osteopath and the rewarding nature of helping patients with their symptoms as well as generally having lots of interesting conversations. Away from work I enjoy lots of sport, which has meant I’m used to my fair share of injuries in the past, playing football, going to the gym and even playing darts. I also enjoy socialising with friends and family. Nico Lopalco I am a graduate of the European School of Osteopathy and, as an Osteopath, enjoy helping a wide range of people. I treat people of all ages from babies to adults. With a personal back ground in sports, I also enjoy treating sports injuries.I have a wide range of skills that I can offer my patients ranging from more hands on treatment such as soft tissue work and mobilisation. Furthermore I also offer more gentle treatments approaches such as craniosacral therapy, home advice and exercises if you are looking for experienced osteopaths Call Rye Osteopathic Practice Ltd on 01797 225 099 Telephone: 01797 225 099 Address: Rye Osteopathic Practice LtdFerry Rd,Rye,TN31 7DN Business Hours: Mon: 2:00 pm – 8:00 pmTuesday: ClosedWed: 9:00 am – 8:00 pmThursday: 2:00 pm – 8:00 pmFriday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pmSaturday: Appointment only via Hastings PracticeSunday: Closed Find us here: call us for appontment or for information  01797 225 099 | Privacy Policy | Cookie Policy | Conditions of Use Patient Information Please arrive at the practice as close to your appointment time as possible in order to continue to keep the number of people inside the practice to a minimum. To make sure that we’re providing you with the right kind of help, it’s important that you come prepared to your first consultation. Ideally, you should bring with you information about your current complaint and past medical history. Any information that you can provide about your lifestyle (i.e. sports, hobbies etc) will also help. All consultations last between 25 – 30 minutes – the first consultation is priced at £49 and all subsequent consultations at £41. What to expect during your first visit An osteopath will begin by asking about your health and medical history. This will be followed by a physical examination, which pays particular attention to your posture, gait, mobility and musculoskeletal anatomy. Because we view the body holistically, you will be asked to undress to your underwear for the examination and treatment. This is because the cause of the condition often originates from other regions of the body e.g. osteopaths consider that an altered knee gait may result in neck pain which can lead to headaches. Following diagnosis, a treatment and management plan will be discussed and agreed with you. Treatment techniques could include massage, articulation, lymphatic drainage, manipulation of joints or gentle balancing techniques and cranial osteopathy.
