Skip to content Home About Me Services Prices Contact Book Appointment Menu Home About Me Services Prices Contact Book Appointment BOOK APPOINTMENT About Me I suffered with chronic knee pain from age 13 (despite an active lifestyle and then getting into strength training). I was frustrated with the care I received when seeking treatment for the first time at age 22 (a rushed appointment, a sheet of generic exercises and no real assessment or hands on).As a result of following my interests in strength training and human anatomy, I enrolled for a masters in Sports Therapy to learn how to fix my own pain and help others with theirs. After graduating Teesside University with BSc (hons) Biological Sciences and MSc Sports Rehabilitation I became self-employed in 2019 offering sports massage, musculo-skeletal assessment, and rehabilitation (for injury or ongoing/reoccurring pain). Later in 2022 I then also qualified in Acupuncture which has been an invaluable science-based treatment for many clients’ health, wellbeing, or rehab journey. I have a genuine care and interest in helping people and take pride in offering the best service to my clients. I believe in honesty, transparency and educating clients to understand their pain and how to manage it holistically as opposed to rushing into medication or surgery. During my free time I love to be outdoors, in the sun and water. I am a firm believer that health, both mental and physical, are interlinked and multi-factoral. Therefore, it is vital to not only address or blame one aspect but step back and check other factors like sleep, nutrition, stress, hydration, exercise, and work-life balance where possible. ~ Maz Quick Links Home About Me Services Prices Contact Book Appointment Home About Me Services Prices Contact Book Appointment Contact Information Redcar TS10 , UK. mazbrightonmassage@outlook.com 07983788123 (TEXT ONLY) Social Media Find on Facebook and Instagram Facebook Instagram Copyright © 2023. Can’t believe I’ve not written a review sooner, I really thought I’d already done this! I’ve worked with Maz for around 3 years now. She’s helped me deal with and recover from a severe knee surgery and also helped with my rheumatoid arthritis. Maz is super invested in her clients and goes the extra mile to research and personalise the therapy to make you feel understood and supported. Highly recommend - great massage. Great rehab support! sam flood 2024-12-23 I've been seeing maz for injury assessment and rehab, I wasn't getting any help from my doctor and was struggling with unbearable pain in my feet from plantar faciatis, maz assessed this, gave me rehab to do at home which has helped strengthen my feet and now I am able to walk about pain free, highly recommend maz for any injuries and pain I also had acupuncture on my foot which has helped loads too Sam Gregory 2024-10-08 Just been to Maz for legs and back massage ☺️ Maz is Friendly, professional and done a great job I feel like I'm walking on air. Thanks Maz I'll be booking in another 👍 susan chamberlain 2024-08-27 I can’t recommend Maz highly enough. A recent back injury on holiday caused intense pain and Maz saw me on her first working day following my return. Within three sessions I was pain free and no further treatment was needed. I don’t live local to Maz but was more than happy to travel from West Yorkshire for my treatment and wouldn’t use anyone else for any future Physiotherapy requirements. Thanks so much Maz 🙏 Joy Dalton 2024-08-26 I have been working with Maz for 6 months now and originally went to see her to address back spasms, high pain and back weakness due to scoliosis. As the condition is very case by case, neither of us were 100% sure what the outcome would be, but over the months, with Maz introducing hands on work on the back itself following a back assessment and also guiding me with rehab exercises (and encouragement to keep going when I least felt I wanted to) I have now returned to regular yoga sessions and am continuing with strengthening exercises/resistance work to increase the strength in the back, as well as keeping balance in good check too. I would highly recommend Maz - she is professional, highly knowledgeable and helps you make sense of what is going on from a pain point of view and massively encouraging to help you manage pain and reduce pain levels. christopher cleary 2024-04-24 Highly recommend Maz Brighton sports therapy. I visited three times for a shoulder impingement. She was very thorough on each visit. A recovery program was made each time. Maz is professional, knowledgeable, friendly & passionate. Beth Mableson 2024-04-17 I’ve been suffering with a knee injury for nearly 9 years, been to the doctors countless times to just be offered “painkillers possibly surgery that might not help” etc. Went to Maz as I thought can’t hurt to try, discovered it wasn’t necessarily my knee but other things that were incorporating to the knee pain. Had my initial assessment where she massaged the area nearby, thoroughly tested both of my legs and I came out with a personal rehab plan. 6/7 weeks on, the injury I’ve been in debilitating pain with and thought I’d have to live with forever has improved vastly. I can now do heavy workouts in the gym again, and its also helped me in my general life as I work a very manual job. Its also completely affected my mental health as I’m not longer in constant pain and am able to do things I wasnt able to do/do very well. Also very responsive when asking questions etc and good with following support. Very excited to hopefully see it continue to get better, but I can already feel an amazing difference. Highly reccommend! Rebecca Crook 2024-03-25 I came to Maz with persistent paint in my shoulder due to work and repetitive strain. Not only is she a lovely person, she made me feel so at ease. She is amazing at what she does and my shoulders have never felt so light after my massage! I will definitely be returning and would recommend her to anyone! It will be the best money anyone will ever spend. Thank you Maz for being so accommodating and just an all round gorgeous person! steve taylor 2024-02-25 Had lower back pain for a while now, Maz located the problem and within 4 sessions I’m sorted Listen to the advice and follow the instructions and you won’t go wrong Lee Blackburn 2024-01-22 Very good and professional would highly recommend helped my Achilles tendons and got me back doing sports 👍🏻👍🏻 Beth MablesonGoogle Review Read More I’ve been suffering with a knee injury for nearly 9 years, been to the doctors countless times to just be offered “painkillers possibly surgery that might not help” etc. Went to Maz as I thought can’t hurt to try, discovered it wasn’t necessarily my knee but other things that were incorporating to the knee pain.
