He has over 16 years experience working within a wide range of inpatient and community based Physiotherapy positions in the NHS and private sectors. During the last 10 years Barry has specialised within the field of acute / chronic respiratory care, and neurological rehabilitation. In April 2020 Barry set up London Respiratory Specialists Ltd, after witnessing the challenges patients experienced trying to access community respiratory care and rehabilitation when leaving hospital. Barry believes that patients should have access to the same specialist care when they return home, supporting the recovery period and reducing the risk of future hospital admissions. Barry also currently works for the UK's largest private hospital as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. He provides oversight and leadership for the inpatient respiratory and intensive care services. Barry’s clinical interests include complex airway clearance, sleep and non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care and rehabilitation after COVID 19. He has over 16 years experience working within a wide range of inpatient and community based Physiotherapy positions in the NHS and private sectors. During the last 10 years Barry has specialised within the field of acute / chronic respiratory care, and neurological rehabilitation. In April 2020 Barry set up London Respiratory Specialists Ltd, after witnessing the challenges patients experienced trying to access community respiratory care and rehabilitation when leaving hospital. Barry believes that patients should have access to the same specialist care when they return home, supporting the recovery period and reducing the risk of future hospital admissions. Barry also currently works for the UK's largest private hospital as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. He provides oversight and leadership for the inpatient respiratory and intensive care services. Barry’s clinical interests include complex airway clearance, sleep and non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care and rehabilitation after COVID 19. He has over 16 years experience working within a wide range of inpatient and community based Physiotherapy positions in the NHS and private sectors. During the last 10 years Barry has specialised within the field of acute / chronic respiratory care, and neurological rehabilitation. In April 2020 Barry set up London Respiratory Specialists Ltd, after witnessing the challenges patients experienced trying to access community respiratory care and rehabilitation when leaving hospital. Barry believes that patients should have access to the same specialist care when they return home, supporting the recovery period and reducing the risk of future hospital admissions. Barry also currently works for the UK's largest private hospital as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. He provides oversight and leadership for the inpatient respiratory and intensive care services. Barry’s clinical interests include complex airway clearance, sleep and non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care and rehabilitation after COVID 19. If the service you are looking for is not advertised we will do our best to help you find appropriate providers. Are the services privately or NHS funded? The services we provide are currently for self-pay or insurance-funded patients. However, we hope to work towards establishing contracts with the NHS in the future. we do have a wealth of experience working within public health care services, so if self-pay is not an option for you we would be more than happy to provide advice on how to access your local NHS services. Can I still access LRS services during the COVID 19 pandemic? We understand that our patients are particularly at risk from COVID 19, and some will be isolating during this challenging time. We also recognise that these individuals continue to rely on our services in order to remain healthy and avoid admission to inpatient services. For this reason, LRS believe it is crucial to continue to provide our home-based services, whilst prioritising safety for our patients at all times. In order to prioritise our patients safety, all individual circumstances will be risk assessed on initial contact with patients and clinical teams. please inform our admin team if you or a member of your household have either recently returned from an affected country, experienced the symptoms of COVID 19, and subsequently are self-isolating. Based on your individual circumstances, our staff, where possible will use technology to provide support services virtually. However, where home visits are essential, clinicians will be provided with full PPE to minimise risk to those self-isolating. Guidelines from the government and NHS are continually changing in response to COVID 19, in response, LRS continues to adapt the way in which we work to prioritise safety for our patients and clinical teams. LRS specialise in the treatment and management of patients with conditions effecting the hearts and lungs. We are not a general Physiotherapy provider. For this reason, the clinicians working for LRS have extensive experience at a senior level (Band 7 and above) working within the field of respiratory care. We are also connected to other health care professionals working across the multidisciplinary team (e.g. Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists) who also has experience working within this speciality. This allows LRS to assist you with finding the multi-disciplinary care you require in the community setting. Additionally, LRS work with other companies to provide homecare solutions for diagnostic testing and specialist equipment.
