This sparked a passion in me to combine knowledge and service to improve the health and lives of others.I studied for my Masters Degree close to my hometown at the University of South Wales before moving across the bridge to work in Bristol for one of the largest Chiropractic companies in Europe. During my time in Bristol, I was honoured to be awarded Associate Chiropractor of the Year as well as being lucky enough to help hundreds of people ranging from those in wheelchairs and using walking aids, to competitive strong men and triathletes, to my oldest patient of 92, to my youngest patient of 7 days old.I am a registered member of both the General Chiropractic Association and the United Chiropractic Association. What is an adjustment? A chiropractor specialises in the spine because the nerves in the spinal cord control your whole body and health. Once the Chiropractor has located the area’s of dysfunction in the spine, they will make specific custom treatments called adjustments to that area which is a quick gentle movement done by hand. The adjustments (chiropractic treatments) restore function to that area of the spine. They also have a neurological effect that improves the communication of the body and the brain. What is the clicking noise during some chiropractic adjustments? Clicking is the formation of gas inside the joint capsule. The noise is a common effect of the adjustment but it is not the goal of the adjustment and some adjustment techniques do not cause any noise at all. Does chiropractic hurt? Chiropractic adjustments are not painful, however, sometimes working through area’s that are already painful and inflamed may be needed.
