Skip to content Stokesley Osteopaths Menu Osteopathy Acupuncture Contact Our Practitioners Book Online Acupuncture Book an appointment Traditional Acupuncture recognises that illness and pain are signs that the body is out of balance a principle which is common to Osteopathy. Both Andrew and Darren are graduates of the Northern College of Acupuncture. Acupuncture compliments Osteopathy very well for this reason and combined treatments are often used to maximise the therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is very effective at reducing muscle tightness when treating spinal and other joint pains. What to wear at your consultation. Vanity gowns are offered to all patients but we recommend that loose fitting clothing is worn. Shorts or leggings for females is ideal and shorts for men. If you are attending for a knee problem then shorts or loose trousers that roll up above the knee is best. A conventional bra is better than a sports bra, especially if you are experiencing Thoracic (upper back) pain. Book an appointment. CharlotteM.Ost Charlotte’s first introduction to working with the human body was in 2006 when she completed an ITEC diploma in massage. She worked as a massage therapist in Spas such as Verbena in Helmsley and The Gleneagles Hotel and Spa in Scotland. It was this work that established her fascination with human anatomy and her desire to improve an individual’s life, leading her to enrol at university to study osteopathy. In 2017 she graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Master’s degree in osteopathy. She is interested in all aspects of osteopathy and can treat a wide range of patients. With a particular interest in developing her skills in cranial osteopathy. Cranial osteopathy is a subtle, gentle approach to treatment that has a very powerful effect on the tensions and stresses held deep within the body. It is ideal for treating very acute pain as well as headaches. She has also had great success in relieving the pains and stiffness associated with ‘wear & tear’ and arthritis by treating the associated muscles, tendons and ligaments as well as the affected joint. She wishes to empower her patients to improve their own health and quality of life through osteopathic treatment, referral to other practitioners when applicable, home advice and exercise. In her own time, Charlotte enjoys walking her dog, playing her instruments (clarinet and saxophone) and travelling.
